Fish Creek Falls

The kiddos really wanted to go hiking again and really wanted to go back to Fish Creek Falls. We left earlier this time and took water and banana bread for everyone. We hiked up, up, and up, trying to reach the bridge to take our break. The kids took turns running ahead and holding a different adult's hand. We tried our best not to let them fall off the trail down the mountain. That would have been bad... We hiked over an hour and never got to the 'bridge', so that plan was abandoned. We found a random grouping of rocks in the shade and had our little break before heading down. As we got to the very bottom, I promised the kids that they could get in the water--the ice cold water. You would have thought I promised them Disney World. They thought that was the best ever. Me? I was just too stressed about one of them falling all the way into the river and being swept away by the current. Everyone had a great time getting their Keens in the water (and getting them cleaned off!).

We also ran into a couple that we know from here. They were up there for their son's baseball world series and had the day off and happened to be on the same trail as us. What a small world!
