A Night Out ~ Almost

We went out last night. We hired a babysitter (that had babysat for us a few times before) and went out with the intent of coming home after the children were soundly asleep. We made sure to tell the babysitter that everyone goes to bed at 8:30. We neglected to state that last time we had a babysitter, so the 5 year old took control and told her that Luke went to bed at 8:30, Natalie at 9 and he went to bed at 9:30. This time, however, we wised up and told the babysitter (in front of all 3 children) that everyone goes to bed at 8:30. She acted as if she understood, so we thought we were in the clear.

Fast forward 4 hours. We arrive home and to our delight, the light is on in the bunk bed room. That is troublesome. There is a 0.001 % chance that those children could be asleep. Sure enough, not only are they awake, but they were having quite a party in there. The floor is covered, completely covered in toys, clothes, books and blankets. I am livid because I cleaned this room Friday and there was nothing on the floor and all the clothes were hung up. (a rarity, indeed) The children are oblivious that anything is wrong and they seem to think that this 10:30 circus time is cute. Not so much. I calmly pay the babysitter and walk her out, trying not to ask her: "WHAT THE HECK???" Nope, I just smiled and waved goodbye to her, knowing that I will never call her again.
