A Party Pet Birthday

We were invited to a birthday party for one of Cooper's kindergarten buddies today. It was at their house, in which they decorated their backyard all pirate-like and then had this gentleman come show and talk about all of his 'pets'. This guy had more pets than you could shake a stick at. (Sorry, I just had to say that!) I bet he brought over 50 insects, amphibians, fish, reptiles and animals. He was in no hurry while he was talking and picking up each pet to explain where the thing was from, where it lives and other interesting facts about it. He let the kids touch and even hold most of the pets. I was OK with him not passing around the tarantula and scorpion, ACK! Here are a few 'pets' that he brought with him: a molting duck, various sizes of frogs, wildly decorated grasshoppers, dancing birds, a lonely ferret, a jumpy hedgehog, a massive iguana, an extra large turtle, an extra small turtle, a very fluffy bunny, a hairless rat, a darling prairie dog, a 300 legged millipede and an extensive variety of lizards, snakes, birds and mice. Now this was a birthday party to remember!
